PSAT '09 Form S Official Thread

Ok…I’m trying to think of some other critical reading questions. Hmm…do you guys have any others that you weren’t sure about? I thought the last section was pretty easy but the math section pretty much killed me:(

what was the sentence for the prattle answer

It was talking about some stupid dude who’s name is synonymous with _______
don’t remember the wording :P

^^^^O, and that would probably be a 74 for math, a 78 for critical reading, and an 80 for writing. That’s a 232, nice job!:)

Hmm…I don’t remember the sentence either:/ I just remember the word.

So was form S easy overall?

anyone remember the other answers i don’t remember what i put X_X

how about -3 Cr and skipped ~4 on math (all others correct). It is too difficult to tell what I got wrong/right on my writing; we don’t have a general consensus on some questions (like the ones on the very last page on movies & books)

Umm…well your critical reading would be a 76 and your math would be a 72.

fresh101, I thought so. I felt pretty confident throughout, but I know I definitely missed a few, based on the answers here.

wartsandall!! HI!

and fresh101, S seemed really easy while I was taking it, and generally was. Some of the writing questions were really tricky, and some CR were hard too. It wasn’t so much the vocab, but more interpretation.

Thanks, Wartsandall!

So apparently I got -(1-2) CR, -0 M, -(1-3) W, so that’s like 79-74 CR, 80 M, and 75-69 W?

What about the movie question. Does anyone remember that one? It was saying that the movies were _ but perceived as _. That’s all I really remember haha, sorry.

^^^Hey!
^If you missed one question on critical reading, you still got an 80. If you missed two, you got a 78. For writing you got between a 77 and an 80:) Nice job!

Myself was definitely wrong. Me is also wrong.

It should be “better than I do.”

You need a subject pronoun because the last part implies “better than I know myself.” You are performing an action.

I’m pretty sure the construction worker answer was the one with the infinitive … “angered the workers to threaten…”

The other answers either used has (incorrect singular conjugation) or had a vague pronoun reference with “they.”

Ex: So angered the workers that they…(does they refer to the causes or the workers?")

</3 careless mistakes on math…missed 2 due to mistakes. I totally know how you are feeling warts =/

:( 10char

a and b were both positive integers

^^^Yes, and if that logic is correct with the workers one, that is another question I missed to add to my failure. Great:/ I’m pretty sure that I got most of the ones right on the last part though, so maybe that raised my score a little.
^Right, so I think it would still be 4. No worries though, I missed that one too.

PRATTLE - some guy spoke foolishly so his name was a byword for PRATTLE

^^ you overthought it…it has to be only positive integers for both

DARN!! i glanced over that portion

^^^Wow, I completely guessed on that one and I think I got it right:) Awesome!
