I found my score out of 1520, but I can’t find the selection index. I’m on mobile so maybe that’s why its not showing up. Is the index just the section scores out of 38 added together and then doubled?
R 40/47 = 35, W 41/44 = 35, M 48/48 = 38
Am I correct in understanding that we have no idea what the semifinalist cutoffs are? I was hoping for the helpful asterisk like we had in the past. 1430 with a SI of 216 sounds good since our cutoff was 211 last year but I have no idea if it is or not. I thought having the scores was going to make everything clear. Argh.
(We did not get a TASP email.)
@TikopiaRock28 according to prepscholar, you’ll make the cutoff! (the cutoff is 210)

From CA here. I just clicked on my CB college QuickStart for my son around 4:20 am.
Reading is 37 ( 2 errors), Writing is 38 ( 0 error), Math is 38 (1 error)
Reading and Wrting =750 Math= 760
Total score is 1510 Selection index is 226
I think prepscholar is wrong. Scores seem much higher overall this year. I hope they are correct but…
Lol… I got 34 R (-8 lol) then 38 W (-0) and 38 math (-1), for a solid 1480 with a 220 index score. I think this will be fine for Ohio, but I don’t know…
@SammieB I hope prepscholar’s right but it seems as though a lot of people are making it into the 99th percentile (more than last year, it seems)
@glassflowers I agree. But then again I wasn’t checking scores last year so maybe its just the highest scores are the ones checking obsessively and posting. Will be interesting to see how son’s friends scored.
If you’re basing whether or not you’ll qualify on the selection index, remember this year’s are out of 228 and not 240, so if you’re right on the dot for your state’s normal qualifying score, you’ll probably qualify.
