PSAT National Merit Letter of Commendation

Hi.
I’m a student in Asia currently attending an international school.
I took the 2013 PSAT and got my result a week ago.
I placed 97th percentile with the score of 207. I’m also a U.S citizen so I qualify for the scholarship program.
Will I be able to get the letter of commendation even though I’m attending school in Asia?? (I heard most of the cut offs for L.o.C were 97% percentile with 202 above so…)

Thanks!

you should get a letter saying you made the 50,000 student cut in April or so. Make sure you get it. The commended letter comes in September.

texaspg, does that April letter you mentioned covers all the semifinalists & commended performers?

texaspg, any clue from the April letter to decide whether he/she makes semifinalist?

ohh thanks…
but does anyone know if that letter is given not only to the people in the states, but also for people in Asia?

The letter is issued to top 50,000 students who took the test. 16,000 make the cut to national semifinalist and who makes it is based on the State cut off score.

The letter should be given to anyone listed as citizen or permanent resident. Many students residing internationally qualify for such letters.

Thanks texaspg. That means we need to wait until September to decide they move to the semifinalist list.

what State are you in and what did you score?

TX, looks like my son is on the brim
