Anyone know when these scholarships are released? I’m on the bubble: my score is 1390 and NMSC Index is 208. I live
in VA but go to school in DC.

There is a whole forum devoted to National Merit including FAQs. I’d look there.

Scholarships don’t get awarded until the spring. The next step will be confirmation of the commended score - hopefully in the next week or so. Semi finalist announcements in September, finalists in February.

Some people in this discussion say that they called NMSC and were told that the commended score for the October 2015 PSAT is 209:

If you go to school in DC, then you are in the most challenging state for National Merit scholarships. It is pretty clear that the required score in DC is going to be 220 or even higher. Sorry.
