PSAT questions

Is the PSAT like an easier version of the SAT?

How does the National Merit thing work, in detail please? (I looked at the PSAT website but I'm dumb and didn't get it)

PSAT is like an abridged version of the SAT. Fewer sections, but essentially the same concept. Also, there's no essay for the PSAT.

If you score high enough on your PSAT (usually 200+), you qualify for national merit. Depending on the cutoff for your state (usually between 211 and 220), you may qualify as a semifinalist, in which case you go through some process with which I am unfamiliar to determine whether or not you're a finalist.

thank you :)
