Hi,

soph PSAT : 161
junior PSAT: 182

winter break is cming in a week! my break is about 3 weeks long, and i was planning to self-study SAT using the thick blue book (from collegeboard) for the whole three weeks + some AP prep for macro, chem and calc BC.

Any advice how to study or tips? (i’m currently a junior)

Thank you!

I would take a diagnostic test first to get a breakdown of which question types/sections you need to work on. And then go back and re-work all the problems you missed on the test.

The next thing would be to read through the test taking strategies at the beginning of the book. You might consider purchasing another test prep book like Princeton Review or Barons. I found that those books cover better test taking strategy than Collegeboard.

Then just keep taking practice tests and going over your missed questions. This is the best way to learn!

1.Learn the strategies for the sections from almost any prep book(i used barron’s). The better you know these, the better you’ll do. I would strong advise looking through the writing strategies.
2.Take tests like crazy.
3.Review the questions and profile all of them to look back on.
If I were you, I’d take 1 test every other day.

Search around on this site because i found a lot of links that are really helpful for the SAT. Get a Princeton book for math and/or an SAT Kaplan 2400 book if you already know the basics. Good luck on your SAT(:
