PSAT Sat.

it was definitely “surrounded by sympathizers”
The question was definitely asking about how David’s PAINTING portrayed Socrates’ death.
Also, “Socrates refused to deny charges” is double negative, meaning he actually admitted to committing the crimes he was accused of, which wouldn’t make sense.
So, SYMPATHIZER friends is definitely correct.

also I had a question about another Socrates question which was "HOW IS THE AUTHOR’S ACCOUNT OF SOCRATES (and it was specifically referring to the paragraph where there was a quote about Socrates dying a hundred deaths) CHARACTERIZED?

the choices were UNCERTAIN, RESPECTFUL, INCREDULOUS, … and most people seem to have put RESPECTFUL. I would like to make an argument that it could be UNCERTAIN (I put respectful, but in hindsight, i realize uncertain could be right) because the specifcically cited lines said “ALLEGEDLY, Socrates said,” blahblah"

sorry to go back to socrates but the last question i think, #48, was the last paragraph significant because it shows what the author intends to do?

About the Socrates passage: I stuck with “respectful”, and the last paragraph showed “what the author intended to do”.

guys it asked about the person…

It was definitely “how is the author’s account characterized”
not "how does the author feel about Socrates’ actions?'

The question asked about the author’s attitude in a specific paragraph. Are we sure that his attitude was “respectful” in that paragraph?

I agree, the answer to the question about how David’s painting portrayed Socrates’ death included something about sympathizing friends.

Other answers I remember:
sanguine,
coined word,
unexpected,
immense status,
activism,
destroyed credibility

Writing:

 • the one about the government: answer D, “continues” is wrong; it’s subjunctive and therefore should be “continue.”

Math: (not in any particular order) 2, 12, 4500, 1/3, 3/7, 5.5 (multi answers that one)

All the options save “respectful” seemed to be too strong or too polarized. I think respectful was an apt fit.

did you guys get “defiant” or “disapproving” for one of the questions about GM? Also, what was the question?

Agreed, “respectful” is what I put.

Blagh, can someone please tell me what the fill-in question with the answer of 12 was?

nobody’s replying to me ;_;

again, it never asked about the author’s attitude.
It said how is the author’s account characterized? and the question specifically citied a paragraph that said, “ALLEGEDLY, Socrates said such and such.”

so I was wondering if it might be UNCERTAIN, not respectful.
That paragraph had no reference whatsoever about the author’s feelings. and the question was definitely asking specifically about those citied lines.

I put “disapproving;” the question asked what the author’s tone in a certain paragraph of passage 2 was regarding the actions of people rallying against GM.

What was the question for the Math grid in answer 12?

yes eric, i got disapproving, i think it was asking how the author of passage 2 would feel about the actions described in passage 1, which were like pulling up the plants

That’s how I feel. The referenced paragraph gave no indication of the author’s feelings…

@Lolowut:

It was a system of equations in which x - y = 10 and something else. Two values of X satisfied it, but 12 was the only positive integer.

@lololwut

it was really it is was xy = 24 and x-y = 10, x is a positive integer, the answers 12

“Allegedly” was only in the passage because the author wasn’t there at the time of Socrates’ prosecution, but the overall tone was definitely respectful.

Ah, I remember now, thank you!
