Alright, so I scored a 211 on my PSAT. Not bad, but one more question correct would have put me in the “definite” category for NMSF. My college counselor said that overall, the scores for our school were down. Being one of the best prep schools in the state, I am wondering if there is any indication that the cutoff will be 211 or less.

I’ll be surprised if the cut score is higher than 211. I think the trend is towards lower scores in Indiana. You will probably be in good shape with 211. I was bummed because my son scored 208 after a 31 ACT last spring. Oh well… Obviously the ACT is a better test for him than the SAT. Congrats. Where do you go to school?

Honestly, I think I’ll do fine/OK when it comes to the whole admissions process. I’m shooting for the top. My test scores aren’t amazing (211 PSAT, 740 Math II SAT II, 770 USH SAT II), but I think they will be passable. I have straight As, will have 13 APs by the end of Senior year, 8 by the end of this year. Two of those are self-studies.

My extracurriculars are my strongest point, however. I’ve founded three clubs at my school, and am a State finalist (tied for 1st my sophomore year) in Speech. I could go on, but I wont.

There will be few Hoosiers with stats like that. If schools want geographic distribution, you will be the one they want. I hope you have the opportunity to attend the school of your choice.
