PSAT scores in 10th grade

What are average, good and excellent score ranges for the PSAT when taken as a 10th grader? Colleges do not see these scores, correct?

Your score report should provide you with a percentile rank of your scores by section if you are interested in comparing yourself to your peers. I’m not sure what score ranges are average, good, and excellent, but I would think something along the lines of 140-170, 180-200, and 200-240, respectively. Colleges do not see PSAT scores.

Thank you!

What about freshmen?

I am not sure if the score report provides percentile ranks for freshmen. However, I know for a fact that if it does, those percentile ranks will compare you against sophomores or juniors who took the test, not other freshmen; I believe the score report itself will specify this.

The score reports do provide percentiles for freshman, same as other grades. They compare to juniors’ scores.

Colleges do not see PSAT scores. Also, many people improve significantly.

For example, I had a 197 sophomore SAT, 212 Junior PSAT, and 2310 Junior SAT. I didn’t study too much either.
