I am a junior and I have signed up to take the PSAT in October. Last year, I took the PSAT with no preparation and scored a 175. If I started studying soon is it reasonable to think that I could raise my score in to the 200+ range. I would love to be a National Merit Scholar but the cutoff in my state (Virginia) is 222, well according to a website I looked on. I’m not sure how official this is. I have the Princeton Review PSAT study book but is there some other book or tips that I can use to raise my score?

Put your efforts in. Starting studying today! Any PSAT or SAT study books will do.

Yes, there’s a whole thread devoted to those books right on this forum. Two hints: get rid of that Princeton Review book and ignore the post above.
