@mufmw123 Congrats. I guess summer DUS does help. I know and have seen others with higher stats get rejected or admitted to a branch school.

keep in mind that GPA’s are really difficult to compare between schools. Last year a poor girl was denied with almost a 4.0 and when pressed, PSU told her that she was denied because her school weighted too easily. So when you see a lower GPA and you wonder how they got in, remember that you don’t know the weighting or grading scale of that school - which is why the Chance Me threads are so difficult. A lower SAT may be offset by other factors. Also, I believe the poster above said they were local, and I forget where I read it, but I did read at one point that PSU gives extra consideration to State College residents. So that may have helped.

We are finally close to the end of this awful state of limbo. Frankly, the wait has made me think twice about the PSU system. If the application process is this frustrating, just imagine dealing with four years of their red tape ! All of my s’s other choices are looking better and better. Thank you to this very frustrating admission process for opening my eyes!!
I have a question… I want to be looked at for University Park, but I put meteorology major and got accepted into the branch campus, is there a way I can repeal it and apply as DUS for UP. Is there anything else they can look at to let me be seen for UP, like if I took the Feb ACT and did extremely well.
btw my stats aren’t great, ACT of 25, and GPA UW of 3.25 :// I know it would be an extreme stretch.
@dtheman172 I’m sure you can ask to be reconsidered for DUS at summer it would just take a while to get an application response. You should have just put DUS for summer with those stats it would of increased your chances of getting in by a lot.
@asaberian yeah, when I did my application I forgot to change to DUS and summer :(, but oh well.
Crazily enough, you never deal with admissions again in your college career. 
do they send you an email notifying you if your admission decision is up?
I believe the portal refreshes at midnight and you receive a email later, but I am not positive

this is honestly the longest wait of my life were almost there guys about 2-3 weeks away
The frustrating part is that doesn’t have to be this bad of an experience. It should be first in first out in a fair manner, …or just release all the info on one day. Really frustrates me that we spent our last few weeks of summer preparing to apply etc. … What a mistake! We should have just done it on the very last day. Next child, we will be MUCH smarter and do many things differently.
I accidentally applied to DUS and was accepted, but I reapplied to Smeal. Will I still get my decision before January 31? Also do I have a good chance of getting in? 3.83 GPA 32 ACT
I was accepted but I never received an email…. anyone know why?
@rbandrews I don’t believe my daughter got an email. She found out on the portal and then a couple of days later she got an acceptance letter in the mail.
