@Thewaiting4ever Sorry to hear about your being in shock about your decision. Do you care to share your stats? If they are as high as CDK, this will be unusual to see more cases like this on this board.
Does anyone know when they update their admissions website? A couple of my friends heard this morning and I’ve been refreshing all day hoping that I will hear, but it hasn’t changed yet.
D accepted to branch campus. Applied to UP on November 29 but transcripts and test scores were sent earlier.

@freckledtatertot I didn’t say they only need FAFSA if denied UP, I said they ALSO will need it if you get into branch.
Congrats to the acceptances today. For those super high stats denied, I would call admissions. Engineering is super tough to get into at UP, but some of the stats denied seem unbelievable. There were some denied last year with high stats but it was because of the way their school weights grades.
Asking for reconsideration to DUS fall is also an option, but it will depend on how many applications there are for DUS. Many have figured out that there is no downside to DUS so I think they get a ton of applicants, and reconsiderations are done after the priority applicants have their decision.

My stats are pretty avg: 3.76 W & 3.51 UW and a 27 on the ACT, i think im gonna be sent to a branch campus lol.
@mecmom did she put down summer option?
@mmsharp my D got into DUS summer last year with same GPA and 38 ACT. If he wants to be reconsidered it would probably have to be DUS to have a chance. Altoona is a great campus, but if he wants UP,there is no downside to his overall plan in my mind to going summer DUS…except of course the added expense. If you do ask for reconsideration the decision won’t come until after priority decisions.
@DHS1234 Yes. We hoped she would have had a good chance of getting into summer with her test scores.
I am so surprised at the offer for branch campus with some of the stats posted. Curious… Has anyone applied directly to summer session? My D says the info on her portal says entrance semester summer 2016. She thinks this means she must have applied directly to summer. If she had applied for fall with a summer option wouldnt it say entrance semester fall 2016? She applied the first week of September but has not heard back yet
Update. My son called PSU admissions. They are going to re-review his file, and reconsider him for DUS undecided and possible summer start. He is very confused/irritated/angry/nervous. We knew nothing was a gimme, but his home flagship with his decent scores and track record we thought was a great shot and great fit. He’s hoping for a few other admits soon!
@datahound Not as high as CDK but. 1900 SAT. Top 10percent of class, Mentally Gifted Program. 20 honors and AP classes. 3.85 out of 4. GPA. Varsity Golf team. NHS. VP NSHS.and a few other honors plus all the other stuff…jobs service etc…
@cdk - we are going to do the same thing tomorrow. Did they say how long it will take to get a new decision? Does it in any way jeopardize their acceptance in the major at the branch campus

@momof3bgb sounds like she applied directly to summer. We did too at first but changed it to fall with summer option. No news yet.

Does anyone have information about how hard it is to get into a major from DUS? I know each major has entrance to major requirements but does the major also have to have an open slot to allow you to move into that major from DUS?

Summer 2016 means that she is only applying for Summer session.
