Longwait7: with the posts I’m reading I wonder if it’s better for her to leave it as summer admission since her stats are definitely on the bubble. She has an 1800 SAT but only a 3.45 GPA. Undecided. Maybe applying directly to summer is wise? I don’t know what is best

@momof3bgb I made the same mistake back in November. Please call ASAP. I think your D has a good chance of getting in for Summer. But your D has to apply for Fall 2016 with Summer option.

You know what’s worse than the waiting…not being accepted. Never thought it was a gimme but thought he had a decent chance. Onto plan B.

@mmsharp there is virtually no difference in entry to major requirements for student initially in DUS vs “admitted” to the major ftom freshman year. Regardless, the exact same requirements are needed. DUS has no downside with the exception of advisor. In DUS, you get a DUS advisor, but they know all of the entry to major requirements.

@jhpsu - thanks for all the help! So basically everyone has to meet the entrance to major requirements even if they are admitted into a particular college at first? I am getting confused reading administrative enrollment controls stuff I think. But it rdoes seem to read that they are guaranteed admission into the major if they meet the ETM requirements.

@asaberian - Yes - my son’s said “application under review” even just yesterday right up to the acceptance response we saw this morning.
