I don’t know much about the program but this might help.http://science.psu.edu/premed/majorinfo. My understanding is that most students are not in a major until their spring semester of sophomore year. She probably still has entrance to major requirements she needs to meet and probably a minimum gpa that needs to be met. @joansass
@joansass No - DUS is just DUS. DUS is the undecided major at PSU. So if she was accepted pre-med, then she’s in pre -med. Not DUS (Division of Undergraduate Studies = undecided).
@japsmom I don’t think so, her letter states she was accepted into the school with a pre-Major
Fafsa was submitted on 2/2 but my son’s portal still doesn’t have it checked off that it was received. Does anyone know if it normally takes a while for it to be accepted and updated on the portal or should I be concerned?
Is anyone else still waiting on acceptance? We applied in late december.
@joansass, the pre med major is within the Eberly College of Science, so she has been accepted as a student in that school, not DUS. Declaration of most majors at PSU including pre med generally takes place somewhere between the third and fifth semesters. after completion of required courses with required g.p.a. If you go on the Eberly College webpage, it will tell you the requirements.
@joanass for most pre majors there is an entrance to major requirements that need to be completed and certain gpa requirements. Check out the link I posted above. It will explain those requirements.
i was just accepted but it says for summer 2016. what does that mean?
Admitted for Lehigh Valley campus. Only interested in University Park, DUS. Do you think they would consider moving me to any weight list for that, or is what is done , done? Have already contacted, but no response as of yet.

@fschil If you already applied DUS and summer session than I don’t think anything can be done about it. If you didin’t put summer as an alternative, than you might have a shot at UP.
i got university park but for summer 2016. so im already in UP just have to start in the summer im assuming?
yes summer session begins June 29th.
but aren’t there other options for summer session? as in different time frames throughout the summer and such? or am i mistaken
incoming freshmen start in June, and go through early August. there is a shorter, earlier Maymester session but that’s not for freshmen.
