Does anyone have freshman year textbooks to sell cheap like Math 140 (Calculus), Chem 110, and Macroeconomics.
You can get the 7th edition of calculus by James Stewart.
I believe I have the calc book. When I took chem it was an online book, and macro was a looseleaf binder full of printed pages. Might be different now though.
To everyone who hasn’t found it yet, you can search for your classes here: http://psu.bncollege.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/TBWizardView?storeId=18555&catalogId=10001&langId=-1
I searched CHEM 110 sec 001 and it came up with an ebook code and ALEKS access, which sounds the same as it was when I took it. I wouldn’t buy anything until the first week of classes, unless your profs tell you otherwise.
If you’re interested in the Stewart book I can get someone to check if I do have it at home. I also have the book for PHYS 212 and would ~love~ to get rid of it…
I am interested in the Stewart book if you have it and thanks for responding.
does anyone know where i can find the course planning guide? i can’t find it on my pre-NSO task list
@tiredhuman Do you mean your recommended academic plan? If so, then those are found on the website for the major that you are in.
@jlhpsu i got an email from SOTP that i can access the “course planning guide” from the pre NSO task list
“This guide will:
•introduce you to the academic structure of Penn State;
•provide more information about the college you have been admitted to; and
•provide you with a recommended first semester schedule.”
but i couldn’t find it anywhere
My DC is a HS junior who is interested in Smeal School of Business, Has 1340 SAT, with a 3.8 unweighted GPA. Out of state applicant. What kind of chance does stats like this provide to getting accepted. Also are all 4 years of undergrad at University Park?
@Empire007 His stats are good. Smeal is very competitive though. He can apply directly for Smeal or he could apply for DUS (“undecided,” but really he would just complete the business prerequisites like everyone else). If he were to be rejected by Smeal, he could ask to be reconsidered for DUS.
Many people do two years at a branch and two at University Park, either by choice (smaller, more personal environment) or because their stats are borderline for UP. People who start at UP generally stay all four years, with some exceptions (nursing majors).
@bodangles thank you!
