^^^ Congratulations! All first-time students admitted to Schreyer automatically get the $4000/year scholarship as long as they maintain some minimum GPA, which I can’t recall.

Just a little more anecdotal Provost Scholarship info to throw into the mix: the young man we know, who got the $6000 a year award last year and was admitted to Eberly, had an outstanding GPA, but he never took chemistry or calculus in high school. I believe he took honors level math and science, but never got beyond pre-algebra, so clearly GPA is more important than the rigor of the high school curriculum for certain awards (i.e., Provost), whereas for Schreyer, you better have both, and then some, which alas our kid with a 1500 CR/M score in all the most advanced classes and a 3.9 all-academic GPA didn’t.

As a family we have to decide if Penn State is worth being full pay when other schools are offering major merit money for his stats.
