Psych at Ford

Hey,
Does anyone know anything about the psychology program that the website can’t tell me? ie, professors, best classes, difficulty level, etc.

THANKS!

1) Read this 1st.
http://www.biconews.com/article/view/51

2) Now, you can check this out and take comments with respect to #1 (disguide is from 2000-2003… sort of fell out of favor with students i think given haverpedia which i believe isn’t anonymous)

http://www.bico.disguide.com/bicosearch.php3?dept=Psychology&lname=&fname=&college=Haverford

3) It’s best to get your advice from non-anonymous sources… which will not be a problem at HC cause of the academic support you’ll be getting from assorted students (UCA, customs person, random majors…) / friends and faculty advisors.

Thanks, that was really helpful.

For what it’s worth, my dad went to the ford in the seventies and graduated with a b.a. in psych, and got a Fulbright
he went on to get a P.hd at University of Minnesota in Psych
Interned at Harvard Med in Psychology
worked for Cornell Medical as a Psychologist
He always spoke very fondly of the department there, in ways that I think would still remain true today. Its a rather small department, classes are very rigorous, and the teachers write wonderful recommendations because of the close bonds that you form during your time there. He broke down crying when we went back a few years ago…his time there certainly had a major impact on his career and his educational philosophy in more ways that one. I would definitely consider Haverford for Psychology if I were you, it was my second choice.
