Hi all,

I graduated from college in '09 from a top 20 U.S. university, with a major in political science and minor in psychology. I was still unsure at the time of my graduation what I wanted to do, so since then, I had an internship in DC with a government oversight type organization, then took a year down in South America to become fluent in Spanish and do some volunteer in work. In the interim, I have decided that I really enjoyed the psychology I did in university and might make a change from a international relations/political science focus (the original reason to become fluent in spanish) to more of a psych-oriented career.

My question is what are my chances to get into a Psych masters program, or even PsyD (I’m more interested in practice than research to be honest), with the following stats/info:

-3.3 GPA (psychology minor probably was around the same, 3.3 or 3.4 average)
-GRE: 730 Math, 710 Verbal, Writing 5.5 (could probably raise math to high 700s or 800 if need be, but Verbal probably is maxed out),
-No research experience, Math experience only consists of Calc II (which I didn’t do great in), no stats class outside of a Stat class geared toward my political science major.
-Internships: Several different ones but all more oriented towards political science than psychology
-Mostly Fluent in Spanish
-Volunteer work with kids in impoverished neighborhoods in South America (2 different organizations, one NGO), Spending several months as a program coordinator twice a week,
-Letter of Recs- I can get probably 1 decent one from a psychology professor, but other than that my recs are from political science teachers as I had more advanced classes in pol. sci. obviously

Any input would be appreciated, thanks.
