Psychology at Vandy

Hey guys. I'm going to be transferring to Vandy as a psychology major.
I've never had a single psychology class, let alone know what it might be like to have a psych curriculum, so would any of you know anything about this major at Vanderbilt?

What are the course requirements? Are there any required math courses? What do you know about the teachers? The research and honors programs? How tough is it and what's the average workload? I'm planning on doing everything I can (high GPA, LSAT, etc) to build a solid background for a top law school--that would be the direction I have in mind, in case you have no idea where to start. So would you have any suggestions for a psychology major at Vandy going into law?

I have a feeling it's gonna be tough, since I just transferred as a music major from a tier 3 university (whose average student's SAT scores are around the 15th to 38th percentile). I've suffered a whole year of boredom in that little paradise and ended up with a 3.96 GPA, so now it's time for me to go to hell and work to death and maintain that grade for a bright and avaricious future in a good legal education and occupation.

Big change for me and an obscenely ambitious goal. I know.

Please help.

Either you somehow don't know that Vanderbilt has their own website or you're extremely lazy. I'm going with the latter.

Obviously it depends on the class...If you want to see syllabi for psychology courses, you can access them through Your Enrollment System/OAK. If you don't know what these are, then you should probably peruse the aforementioned Vanderbilt website.

My main purpose in this thread is to see if you have any suggestions for a pre-law student. Obviously, I have been to ratemyprofessor.com and the Vanderbilt website, but ratemyprofessor is hardly a substitute for a detailed reply on this site, and course names and syllabuses are not going to be as informative for me as a good response from a CC user who understands my exact situation.

The real reason for this thread is to ask the broad question, "are there any suggestions for a Vandy psych student going into law?"

I think it's a little presumptuous of you to assume that I'm lazy by just reading my first and single post. I do my research through great detail, and I post broad questions here to check if I'm missing anything. I'd say this is a sign of efficiency, not laziness. You really hurt my feelings.

But thanks anyway!

Well, I'd utilize all the resources that Vanderbilt offers, such as their pre-law advising...

Wow. Now I gotta admit I didn't see that one. Sorry for the rant. Thanks so much.
