Psychology program schools in california

Hello,
My daughter is a junior in high school and already has taken some basic classes at the local JC. She wants to be a psychologist, what are some of the reputable schools for this major in california? Also is there a big diffrence in pay or duties between a Masters and Phd? Is this a difficult major or is that a bad question, I hear it is!! See I worked for Lockheed before lay-offs so Ive had the chance to talk with many college grads from MIT to Cal tech and they hate when people ask them. Is MIT hard? Some reply not any harder then anywhere else if you have a passion for what your learning and prepared for it, a aero engineer has a quote in his office that reads" Fail to prepare, prepare to fail" Anyhow any info is much appreciated!!

thanks

Hello!
I know Stanford has an excellent psych program… needless to say, it’s VERY competitive. Most schools will have a decent psych program, as it’s a very popular major. I’m sure there will be more in California that would suit your daughter’s needs.
Psych’s not a “difficult” major compared to engineering or something similar, but I’m sure it has it’s difficulty.
MIT is difficult; it’s a tier one school with very rigorous programs. The quote in the engineer’s office seems applicable, though: if you work hard, study, and prepare for each possible assessment, you should be able to handle it.
Hope this helps a bit!
