Our son has been accepted to all 3 schools for psychology. Money aside would which school is better for a psychology degree? Knowing that it is relatively early to say, he believes he would like to be involved in counseling/therapy.
Lowest cost that paves the way to grad school.
Psychology is the most common major in the country, maybe next to business. Lehigh would be a good choice if he is interested in the more specialized behavior neuroscience degree they offer…probably more value add than a general psych. degree.
LehighHawkDad, is the hawk in your name in reference to SJU? He is extremely interested in SJU too and received quite a bit of merit. They have a nice 5 year program as well. It most definitely would be the least expensive route for him.
@mom2016mom “LehighHawkDad, is the hawk in your name in reference to SJU?”
I think it is a reference to Leigh athletic teams being known as the Lehigh Mountain Hawks.
Much2learn is correct, it refers to the Lehigh (formerly known as The Engineers) Mountain Hawks, not the St. Johns (I thought they were the Red Storm?) Hawks…but if you mean the St. Johns in NYC, that would be a very different undergraduate experience…very urban, more commuter population, different student academic and demographic profile…depends on what you are looking for. I was just saying the behavioral neuroscience program is very popular.
LehighHawkDad, the SJU she referenced is Saint Joseph’s University on City Line Ave in Philadelphia. The Hawks. Good school, great school spirit, easy access to downtown Philadelphia, lots of local alums, and a nice little campus. You don’t want to wander south of campus. Worth looking into imho. Best of luck.
