Wow, I can’t believe its down tonight- everyone must be submitting lol.

Keep trying!

… i finally got it…
after 3 and a half hours of waiting.
i am so ****ed off.

that was p-i-s-s-e-d hahah

Your dad’s finances still matter, even if he doesn’t have custody of you, blairt. The only time when it is completely disregarded (that is it does not enter the picture in any way, shape, or form) is when the child and fully custodial parent does not have any contact at all with the non-custodial parent.
Psychiartrists are scientists, not historians. They’re fully lisenced Medical Doctors. My grandfather is one, and he is certainly not a historian.

…you sure? why would they need to know what the father is worth if the father isn’t going to contribute to the tuition? if my father were to contribute, then we wouldn’t need financial aid in the first place.

Since I am not absolutely certain, I think you should look at the website or ask your mom. If I am wrong, I don’t want to give you incorrect information. Don’t worry about it too much, though; if a boarding school offers you a spot, that means they want you to accept (for yield purposes, if nothing else), and they’re not going to taunt you by specifically offering you less FA than you need.

For those of you interested in psychology, perhaps you should do a study of the psychology of this board. If you follow it over time there are many recurring themes and dynamics that I find very interesting.

i’ve actually been thinking about that… it’s a good idea. esp. with the chances… i’ve noticed some key behavior. it’s very intriguing.

I know, I like to psycho-analyze people too. What do you think when this person said “Chances Please??!” Do you think that they added two question marks to illustrate their point, or to add a dash of peculiarity? I’m a little miffed by the exclamation point too. It doesn’t correlate with their pre-determined disposition. I need to check into this further. Now I think I’ll determine everyone else’s personalities. Give me a few days.

Indeed, the observation of use of punctuation is quite crucial when analyzing human emotion, for “What?” is quite a different response than “What!” and likewise with “Chances?” and “Chances!” and “C|=|4||||C35?!$%^!”. :)

Yes, the person who said “Chances?” was also rejected at all top schools. He was seen as insecure, shy, and introverted.

However, the “CHANCES!!! i’m soo pwned about andover!!” got in pretty quick. He was seen as aggressive, charming, and a student-athlete who thought all the pretty girls went to see Andover games and not the ones at Exeter.

Then there are some kinds who post topics that make no sense and are completely obsessed about boarding school. They tend to post things like “Is Above Average different from Outstanding?” and “Is this dress too tight in my photo for Choate?”

A keen observation, olivia. However, the use of “pwned” in that context is questionable. ;)

What exactly would you make of one who says "“C|=|4||||C35?!$%^!”? A test of skill, I must say.

It is interesting to that. I’ve been kind of doing that for a little while. I haven’t taken notes or anything, though. ![]()
Chaos, you would assume that that person is chaos. :D
