Pton Short essay Question. Please answer

Tell us in a way so we know who you are.

In “what” way? I don’t want to tell another anecdotes because my other essays are already narratives. Has anybody here tried another approach other than telling a story?

I wrote on that topic too, and basically told them what I wanted them to know about me–what things are important to me and why, and what that had to do with my going to college. Anecdotes about winner tear-jerking narratives aside, it’s okay to talk directly to them in an I-am-the-student-you-are-the-admissions-officer-let’s-get-real sort of way. If that’s your thing. The direct approach is the biggest alternative I can think of to telling a story.

I gave random bits of info that when put together, showcase me, because the quirky things that scream “Erica!” can’t be expressed in an essay. So I started it with something like “My name is Erica, I’m 17, etc. etc.” and then the rest of it was just like ‘I love my teddy bear. I’ve never been short. I can’t fall asleep without music’ etc. etc. I wrote it really late at night and it was just random things that came to me, until I had 250 words - if I had written it a different time, I’m sure different things would have been put in.

I wrote a crazy metaphorical essay comparing me to a firefly. Try that on for size, haha. My least favorite essay, but it was quasi-fun writing it.

wow a firefly? hahaha that’s very creative, phil. :)

i wrote about my cultural background and how I’m not really as my ethnic stereotypes would suggest me to be.

Haha but it worked phil! :D

Lol, that it did. waves I’ve missed you guys :(
