Can anyone describe the difference between these two majors in terms of the amount of economics and mathematics they require. One is in Peabody, and one is in Arts & Sciences. Aside from differences in the core curriculum, are there big differences between the courses required?

i think both of these majors are being offered at the school of arts and sciences. Besides that, I hear economics is more useful in terms of the real world (perhaps law) **Could somebody actually equivocate which pre law courses are offered at Vandy?

Pre law is like pre med. It’s not a major. To see what classes are suggested for those planning to attend law school, google that phrase. There are plenty of classes/majors at Vanderbilt that are appropriate.

The economics major, as the name suggests, requires an extensive amount of economics and a good deal of math.

The public policy major requires Economics 100, 101 and 231 (intermediate microeconomics). You will need calculus I to complete these courses. You will also need to take a statistics course. Many economics courses count toward the public policy major if you’re so inclined.
