Public policy...?

Right now im up in the air about moving out of this state, or to stay in NY and receive my B.A.

i choose to major in Public Policy…though i want to leave NY asap and i dont want to loose my connections through the internships and such. Basically my question is if i choose to major in public policy, would it be recommended to stay in NY or would the degree be just as effective as if i were to live in California…

I received my acceptance letter the other day, and called admissions today. My experience with suny albany is terrible so far lol. the admission guys was okay, The lady i spoke to who ran the summer program was rude, had no solid answers and basically hung up on me to transfer me. Mr.Sanchez, the counselor i spoke to was a total d-bag. I cant believe the ba11s this guy had, im going to make sure i dont come in contact with this dude for advising…i read that the staff is lazy in previous posts, so i wonder if this is truly the case?

I was considering in switching my major to sociology, though i got a big laugh from Mr. Sanchez so idk now…before i was considering recreation though thats not much better…

hrrrm any suggestions and comments would be helpful =D

I teach in public admin department, which runs public policy program. Undergrad degree, which is combined major/minor, is more liberal arts oriented than MPA program, which is career oriented–there are some pretty good undergrad internships at NY legislature, but most agencies are looking to hire at the masters’ level- if you want to think about combined BA/MPA program, that would get you out sooner than a separate degree and make you significantly more marketable than just a BA
