Looking for easy marks. Campus is relatively empty now. There’s much less of this type of crime during the regular school year.

Could you tell me what happened?

Public safety sent out a mass e-mail.

Here’s the message.

I really don’t understand why Penn can’t seriously clean up the area.

A school near where I live was able to decrease campus crime pretty much from somewhere in the range of 100+ per year to somewhere around (less than) 20 per year by a huge bout of gentrification LOL.

9-13 years old?!! it doesn’t seem very dangerous if the assailants are up to your waist

God, can you imagine? In a few years, toddlers will be assaulting Penn students with their Fisher Price Shapesorters and robbing us for milk money.

At that point, I don’t really know what I’ll do.

i recall that 2 years ago a visiting professor was assaulted on smith walk by some young girls wielding hammers…

haha I was just partying at Spring Garden. Glad I survived. I wouldve been scared if a bunch of middle schoolers attacked me lol.

and all the screwdriver muggings last year were pretty hilarious.

Would it be against campus rules to carry a (legal sized) knife for self defense?

My sister was walking on Locust Walk and one of these little hoodlums came up behind her and smacked her on the butt.

She said he wasn’t riding very fast and she probably could have caught up with him if she wasn’t so dumbfounded. Seriously, if I had been there I would have grabbed him violently off of his (probably stolen) bike and thrown him violently to the ground, at which point I would have slammed the bike on the ground and destroyed it, because hey, it’s not his, anyway, is it?

If I had seriously injured him, I wouldn’t care. The crack-dealer-in-training would deserve it.

Seriously, these kids need to be put in jail.

like phatalbert said…these incidents are a lot fewer and far between during the school year.

although I did find the screwdriver thing last year a little scary.

haha, I saw those kids get arrested the other day. Pwned.

come up across one of these kids this year im gonna bust their heads.

but yeah there isnt really anything to be scared of during the year, last year was just fine

Pwninated indeed

Can you guys explain to me exactly what happened? Was this during the school year? How many incidents? Was it directed mainly towards Penn students or just anyone in general?

Man, I don’t want to die. I think I’ll just stay home next semester, and drive DUI instead.

I was looking at the log kept by Public Safety at Drexel for Jan-present. There seems to be certain areas that are plagued with attacks. For one, around 35th & Hamilton. And also, around Spring Garden. I saw listings for assaults with a knife or cutting instrument and also what they call strong arm (fists, etc.).

lol i wish some 13 yr old PUNKS would try and pull that s**t with me. I will truly make each and every one of them regret it.
