public vs. private differences

Obviously, private and public high schools have a huge disparity in quality/teachers/facilities/technology, etc. Is this true of private vs. public colleges too? Are the facilities shoddier in high-end public schools too?

No. They are just not as polished and used by many more people as there are many more people at public schools. In fact, public schools, being huge schools, often have better faculties, they just aren’t as “nice.”

yupp, it worth to ask experienced people to check the research activity of faculties. UCI can be much better in things than Harvard, believe or not (and vice versa).

I disagree there is a huge disparity in public and private high schools, though maybe that is the case where you live.

Public universities still have very high quality facilities, and sometimes they are better than their private counterparts.

There ARE some public schools that defy the “huge and impersonal” stereotype. To me, these are fantastic values, even if you are an out of state student Among them: Evergreen State (Washington), Mary Washington U (Virginia), St. Mary’s College of Maryland (MD), Humboldt State U (Calif), New College of Florida (Fl), University of South Dakota, State Univ. of NY Geneseo, University of Vermont.
