So what would the salary look like for an entry level position at a place like Random House? I am coming out of an English degree from UC Berkeley in about a year’s time. Generally how long does it take to move up to a top position? If the salaries are so meager that I can’t survive, and growth opportunities are limited, I would rather just work for 1, 2 years and then head to law school. I’m very interested in the field, but I wish some of these creative fields were more lucrative. It’s hard to align my interests with finances it seems. I’d appreciate your help : D

You can check out the U.S. Department of Labor - Bureau of Labor Statistics website.

I beleive the start salaries are between $23,000/year to $25,000/year.

The only way to align creativity and finances is in entrepreneurship.
