Purdue CS vs Univ Of Michigan CS

Out of state for both schools. Which is a less competitive school between these two. Planning to apply to that school to increase chances of admission.
If it is UMich, is LSA CS easier program to pursue than CS from Eng school. What is the main difference between these two programs

It’s Purdue. Not Perdue.

Michigan has a lower acceptance rate but CS is very competitive at Purdue as well.

Good catch.Thanks

Is there a reason you can’t apply to both EA, what do you mea by increase chance of admission, neither has ED if that’s what you mean. Anyway, typically the CS in the LSA is easier at most universities than the CS in Engineering, whether it’s called EECS, ECSE or something else.

EA deadline passed for both the schools. So it would be regular decision now. Just trying to extend the college list by one more.
3.97 unweighted GPA and leadership positions held.

Purdue fills most of its class EA. RD is a much harder admit.

This is very useful info. Thank you!

Certainly can still apply to Purdue though, it sounds like you are a strong candidate. Not sure how Purdue CS RD acceptance rate compares to UMich CS RD acceptance rate, but Purdue could still have a higher acceptance rate in RD (and will also be less expensive than Mich).

UMich OOS acceptance rate is less than 20% in toto, probably even less for CS, whether in LSA or COE.

What other schools have you applied to?

CS can be totally closed out after the EA round. Honestly I thought the OP was researching for next year or I would have said something immediately.

For other students reading this - Purdue CS, nursing, and flight all have a priority deadline of Nov 1st. They can close the major and accept 0% in RD.
CoE also tells students to apply by 11/1.

Honors college, scholarship consideration, and vet nursing have a hard Nov. 1 deadline.

Good to know. Perhaps OP can have her HS GC call the AOs at any of the schools under consideration to find out the status. I hope OP has at least one affordable CS safety.

Yes. Got accepted to in state safety schools. Other schools applied are reach with 15% acceptance. so wanted to add 1 more school that has higher acceptance rate.
