Purdue Early Action Class of 2030 Official Thread

Has anyone heard if there has been a decrease in international applicants? I have heard that this is happening at lots of schools this year. Hoping (yes selfishly) that this will open more spots for OOS applicants….

(note - this is NOT to start a political discussion about the why behind a possible decrease in international applicants - just looking if anyone has heard anything definitive regarding an decrease?)

I haven’t heard anything, but if admissions has a goal for in-state, OOS, and international percentages, it may simply benefit just the international pool if there is a decrease in the number of applicants. Also, international students are generally full-pay, so it’s likely that most universities (especially public ones) will try to maintain whatever target percentage they’ve established. But I am simply making a guess here.

Yes there was a drop both in WL and in Indy: “at the university’s main campus in West Lafayette, international student enrollment decreased by nearly 7% overall, or about 640 students, from fall 2024.” IU Indy, Purdue see dip in international student enrollment

But I agree that this is more likely to help other international students, not necessarily OOS applicants.

The goal for every university is a revenue dollar figure. Getting to that revenue number by a mix of high and low paying students is the puzzle they put together in admissions.

My S26 just had their portal updated (new UI & application status?) and had the thin bar disappear - the tan bar that says Application Status: Complete. Looking through last year’s EA thread, does that mean anything? Anyone else disappeared?

Same. The portal also looks different.

D26 noticed her portal changed on Tuesday. Instead of a thin bar it now has a box with smaller boxes inside and the box saying “Complete” is highlighted in old gold (can you tell Mom and Dad are Purdue grads, ha!).

Does anyone know if results could come out today instead of the 15th?

Hoping. I think some schools have been dropping early. Recently, saw UMich dropped some EAs early. This wait is so long.

The wait is killing me! But UMich stated “by end of January” in their release deadline while Purdue explicitly says on. Still keeping my fingers crossed though..

Anyone know if historically they do instate a different time than out of state?

I think everyone gets the decision around 5 pm on the 15th no matter what. The letter should have the decision and merit scholarship amount if any is given.

Portal says, “decision has been made.” No ability to click on it though

We have decided block as well but the middle “complete” is highlighted in gold so I think when decision is made, it will highlight in gold. Don’t think decision is made yet.

This is what my D26’s looks like. I don’t remember it looking like this last year for my D25.
