You are spot on. WL has had a housing crisis for years, so asking specifically for Indy offers a better chance of FYE admission, but then your choices of major are very limited. IMO the Indy campus was acquired for exactly this reason, to accept more deferred FYE students while keeping numbers down in WL.
To this point, I saw a Facebook clip from one of those college-counseling gurus who posts lists of X, Y, Z for colleges. This clip was about colleges with a housing crisis and Purdue was on the list.
Hi there! I just admitted to the Indy campus, and I learn that the campus is no different than the WL since students can commute between each other for lab courses etc., is it really differ just in terms of “social life” or is there any important caveats for consideration.(Majoring in EE btw).

The two campuses are more than an hour apart. Yes, there are shuttles. Yes, you will get the same Purdue degree but the environments are very very different. And it’s not realistic to think you can take classes at both campuses on the same days. The last cohort in Indy had less than 1,000 students. There are 50k in WF.

The portal has changed for my deferred daughter. The current status button has moved to complete from decided. She could access her deferral decision under decided. There is nothing to click through on Complete.
There are decisions out. My daughter was waitlisted for the Pro Flight program. She is unlikely to ask to be put on the waitlist.

For the 2026 Fall admitted students, will Purdue freeze the tuition for 4 years?
What is the experience of previous students? Do the fees go up?
CS department has charged us 4K+ of differential fees or something in our offer. Would these go up every year?
Historically it’s been frozen but the trustees announce it year to year so it’s possible that it could go up.
I understand that the tuition has been frozen for 10+ years.
But most univs freeze the tuition & keep it at the same rate as freshman admissions for 4 years, right?
Purdue does not guarantee four years at the same rate. There are some schools that do, but I don’t think that’s the norm.
