Purdue Housing Application and renter's insurance

The first page of Purdue online housing application is asking you to buy renter’s insurance. It seems you have to buy the insurance or decline renter’s insurance before you can go to housing application. Did I miss anything? Can I apply housing first and consider renter’s insurance later?

Another question: Applying for housing and applying for Learning Community are parallel tasks or sequential tasks? Do we need to wait for housing approval before submitting LC application?

Our homeowners insurance covered dorm losses so check that first but you can sign up for housing and declined the university insurance.

You can sign up for living learning communities now. You don’t have to wait for any approval. You just need to submit both.

I had a friend in college whose apartment caught fire, so i got renter’s insurance it was quite reasonable for a year. But yeah if in dorms check with your own homeowners insurance.
