Purdue Journalism Program

How difficult is it to get into Purdue as a journalism major and how selective is it? I know that Purdue is more renowned for it’s aerospace/engineering programs, so would the Journalism program be a bit easier to get into? Also, according to collegeboard, Purdue values test scores more than GPA. Is this true? My GPA is not too great. I am currently a junior, so by the end of this year I’m expecting my cumulative GPA from sophomore to junior year to be 3.0ish unweighted and 3.2ish weighted. My SAT score is pretty good though (2150+). In terms of extracurricular activities, I have placed well at regional and state business competitions, and I am an officer of a community service club. I have worked a political internship and I am on my school newspaper. I have contributed to a few local newspapers as well.

Purdue seems to be a fairly prestigious school with a somewhat high admission rate (73%), so I just want to know if anyone can answer my aforementioned questions because I would like to get an idea of what my chances are of getting as a Journalism major, even if Journalism is not one of Purdue’s most acclaimed programs.

Thanks a lot!

Edit: Oh, and if it matters, I am not a resident of Indiana.
