Purdue University: Class of 2024 Discussion/Decision Thread

@staycalm123 The language in the acceptance letter does, in fact, relate to maintaining your grades senior year of high school. FYE is a common curriculum for all engineering students. Upon completion they apply to the engineering discipline (major) of their choice. This is referred to as Transition to Major (T2M). CODO refers to the change of Major process. CS is not part of the College of Engineering. Feel free to PM me if you have further questions. My so. Is a sophomore engineering student.

Accepted! Engineering

@brownvibesonly Is the second choice (Math-CS) more competitive to get in?

Many who got in CS have lower stats than your kid.

Hey! Does anyone know when the invitations for Beerings and Stamps Scholarships are coming out?

Purdue has had a tuition and room/board freeze for the past 8 years. They have made a conscious decision to use funds to keep tuition down for all.

They are particularly stingy with merit for CS and CoE.

Congrats to those accepted.

Boiler Up!

@droppinknowledge In state or out?

@TimeUpJunior I’m not actually sure. I highly doubt it - CS is one of the most competitive majors at Purdue. A little bummed about not getting the major, but grateful to have been accepted!

Did anyone put data science as their major option?
If yes, what was your result and your stats?
Also, when does Purdue Decision comes out in RD?

@strengthinmind Honors college invitations come out in a few weeks,I’m sure the scholarship invite goes out then too?

One could only hope!

Son accepted FYE. 4.6 wGPA, 1480 SAT, rank 1 of 300, no scholarship offered, decent ECs, OOS NJ.

While no scholarships, the list cost is still 10-15k less than some of the other public schools we applied to. It is ~25k less than many privates, and we are full-pay. While Purdue doesn’t heavily play the scholarship game, it is still competitively priced for a school ranked #5 for aerospace and #8 for mechanical engineering (if rankings matter). For us it’s still in the mix.
