My S was deferred for his first choice major (Chem - ACS). Letter says that, in addition to continued consideration for first choice, he will still also be considered for his second choice major (Biochem) if necessary. He’s glad that he’s still being considered for Chem-ACS major (would rather wait and see, then have second choice acceptance at this point).

For future portal watchers: No extra tabs appeared on portal this week. Have no idea if there were changes early this morning. Had the “Cancel your Application” link/button added back today, but never got the “Change your Major” link/button.

@TheVulcan , your Son did not get any merit scholarship? That’s crazy! He is probably one of the Best … and will probably go to MIT
Does this mean, more merit scholarship decisions would be coming in future?

I guess no merit award as it didn’t say anything about it in his letter. @WhyNotinPA, I agree – it’s a bit confusing about who got an award and who didn’t, eh? Does the univ have to give every dept a certain % of the merit money, so it’s harder to get it in CS and engineering?
Applied to LOTS of schools because CS is so competitive and the schools’ admit rates are usually much higher than the CS admit rates (which are also not usually even published). Still waiting for a few.

Weighted: 4.3 ish (moved countries during HS so a little low on APs - took as many as possible 11 & 12)
ECs: Academic Decathlon (champion team of county), Girls Who Code, CS Honor Society, Own CS Program through NCWIT for middle school kids, CS volunteering, School on Wheels tutor, Girls Empowerment Club Founder, Summer Internship at Real Estate data company through Girls Inc.
Awards: School Academic awards of excellence, NCWIT (National & regional), Academic Decathlon awards, 1 coding competition award, National Merit Commended Scholar
Accepted for CS OOS. 1500 SAT, 3.7 UW, 4.1 W, 10 APs, robotics captain, 3 years of varsity cross-country. Couple of awards for robotics and cross-country. No merit scholarship. Didn’t submit subject tests.
Was the 10k scholarship info in the acceptance letter?
I did, honestly really surprised. 3.95 UW, 4.33 W, 1450 SAT, 800 SAT II Chinese, 780 Chemistry and Math II, 10 AP classes taken, didn’t get all 5’s.
