So can an engineering student get rejected from the specific engineering major they apply to after 2 years? If they do what is the process after that? TIA.

Good luck all!
I contacted them, and it’s fixed now! I just signed up–worked perfectly.
It works now.
@RNR262 Engineers need a 3.2 engineering index to be guaranteed their first choice major. That’s basically their STEM GPA. My D only knew a handful of students who didn’t get their first choice (mostly BMEs). Non competitive engineering majors require much lower indexes.
The process is called “transition to major” and is detailed on the CoE webpage. It is a very seamless process for most.
congrats to all, i cant bring myself to typing all this stuff out. i feel like it sounds snotty if i say it for myself. lol
for the honors program, do the results come out late? I didnt even get my accept deny results apart from the honors program accept deny results. i applied for ea CS.
Happy to share that DD accepted into Krannert (Economics), with $10K per year award !
OOS, SAT in 1300s, regular ECs and good essays.
Is it normal to see ‘Lower Division’ mentioned along with the program ?. Looking into Krannert website, it says most of the students start in lower division… Anyone has more insight on this ?.
I ran the NPC for purdue and it shows 10K in gift/ need aid. We are OOS.
Should I take this figure seriously? Does anyone know if Purdue gives need aid to OOS students?
This would make the difference for us deciding on Purdue.
Aight so someone said they didn’t see many deferrals and wanna know some stats so here you go.
Major: FYE (aerospace)
SAT: 1440 (760M)
GPA: 97.2 (school uses 100 scale)
Competed in NY state/national championships for track.
Eagle Scout
Volunteer at airport in exchange for flight lessons
Class Vice President
Chorus
Work at Boy Scout camp
Honestly should’ve taken the sat again but I saw the one post of the 2017 class stats and thought 1440 would be fine and this was like my most competitive school I was applying to.
Wish there was a way to show high continued interest besides not cancelling the application.
Congrats to those who got in though!

Purdue’s merit aid letter usually comes later via snail mail in mid February. This was the case for my oldest who graduated from Purdue in 2017 and received 10k a year, total aid 40k as an OOS student. Purdue was a great investment, the 10k a year brought tuition close to our flagship state school. President Daniels froze tuition all 4 years. With AP’s, placement testing ( foreign language, math) my child received credit for similar required lower level courses and entered with enough credit equivalent of first semester of freshman year. Employment opportunities, plenty. Major, Biochemistry - pre med, minor physics. So ride this out and congratulations.

Not sure if Purdue offers any merit scholarship/aid for Internationals. When do merit and honours decisions come in ?
Appearing for APs in May - Do these count towards coursework ?
Have an admit from Colorado-Boulder (Aerospace), Iowa State(Aerospace) with some scholarship and a few others. Current dilemma is assured Aerospace in these colleges versus FYE at Purdue. How difficult is it to secure Aerospace after first year ?
Looking forward to the advice. Congrats to all.
RPDad:
Went to an information session with my son over the summer run by very nice female engineering students. They told us that aerospace was the only major that turned people down last year, but it was still 90% acceptance. Would check with someone in administration on that, but just FYI.
Accepted to FYE (put computer as my preference)
SAT: 1430 (730M / 700R)
wGPA (don’t know unweighted): 4.24
Class Rank: 23/~560
good essays
Letters of rec were prob decent
okay ECs
Attended Purdue’s STEP camp over the summer (this probably helped me get in)
Daughter accepted into FYE with 10k presidential scholarship. Any other Texans considering Purdue? My daughter really liked visiting the school but I think the fact that she knows no one attending there is a negative. We would like her to go there because we know she will quickly make new best friends and it seems to be a great fit for her personality.
We received the same error trying to sign up for the March 23 Purdue For Me day. We will try again over weekend and then maybe contact them if it persists.
