Just saw a reddit post on Purdue’s subreddit that someone got off the waitlist for engineering technology this morning. Let’s keep our hopes up!
Just wanted to hop on here and say that I am not in the class of 2024 (BME '2023) but if anyone has any questions feel free to PM me! And congrats to those who are admitted/have accepted their offer, and good luck to those who are still waiting on decisions!
Do you know how they process waitlisted applications? It seems like few people got off the waitlist. How long one should wait for their decisions?
I’m not 100% sure how the waitlist process goes since I wasn’t admitted through waitlist, but I do know that Purdue tends to over-admit students in hopes that more students don’t accept their offer, but this always leads to housing issues and less people getting off the waitlist. Usually at Purdue each school has a certain amount of spots and once those fill up, then one is placed on the waitlist. I’m pretty sure once someone declines their offer and they have an open spot (keep in mind they over admit) then another student will get off the waitlist. I don’t know the exact date of when they stop admitting students from the waitlist, but I would say once beginning-mid July rolls around then I would say all bets are off since housing assignments for freshmen get released in the middle of July. Good luck!
My son was rejected yesterday from Engineering waitlist for Class of 2024. He had 1490 SAT (Math 780; English 710) and a 4.0 GPA. AP scores: 4 in AP Calc and AP US History. Just took AP Physics tests (2), AP Spanish, and AP Gov tests. He is out-of-state student, varsity football player, and youth basketball coach.
Is there a separate thread for Purdue Fort Wayne? Specifically I wonder about on-campus housing for incoming freshmen. Our son was told he’s on the waitlist…
