For those interested in Engineering -
"A total of eight programs placed in the top 10 for their specialties in the rankings released Sept. 23, 2026.

The college’s specialties ranked in the top 5 are: agricultural and biological engineering (ABE), No. 2; industrial engineering (IE), No. 2; aeronautical and astronautical engineering (AAE), No. 3; civil engineering (CE), No. 4; and mechanical engineering (ME), No. 4.

Rounding out the top 10 Purdue Engineering specialty rankings are materials engineering (MSE), No. 7; computer engineering (CmpE), No. 9; and electrical engineering (EE), No. 10.

In addition, two specialties in the Department of Computer Science (CS), jointly affiliated with the College of Science and the College of Engineering, ranked in the top 10: cybersecurity, No. 6, and software engineering, No. 9."

Purdue also earned high rankings for Best Undergraduate Business Programs.

Production/Operations Management (No. 5), Business Analytics (No. 8), Supply Chain Management/Logistics (No. 9) & Quantitative Analysis (No. 10).

Purdue ranked Top 25 overall for Business.

Overall ranking: 55 (Drop from 46 last year)

Public institution ranking: 22 (Same as last year)

Public universities faired worse with the new methodology which explains the overall ranking drop but not in the public ranking.

It’s funny - the other year - a bunch of publics really moved up - UIUC, Rutgers and more. Guess this had the opposite effect but some moved up like a Wisconsin.

But I can’t imagine people are going to be like - well Wisconsin is on the upswing; Purdue is falling so I’m going to Wisconsin.

I don’t think anything changes - they would be two in a consideration set of maybe more than two and weather campus, cost, major or something else are the deciding factor, nothing changes.

It’s fun - like who’s #1 in football - but it still doesn’t determine the winners in reality.
