Pure Vitamin E Oil

Can anyone recommend a pure Vit E Oil to rub on a scar? You are all such a great resource!

My mom swears by it for extremely dry/cracked skin…I think she adds a few drops to her lotion before rubbing it on her hands/feet.

What about this?

[MEDERMA ® Skin Care for SCARS ™](http://www.mederma.com/)

Ths for the suggestion. Mederma is the first thing I asked my plastic surgeon about. Per my dr. I am to do scar massage consistently for 5 minutes at least 2x’s a day. You use your index and middle finger and apply pressure in a circular motion along the scar line to break up scar tissue. Medera is applied the same way. It is my dr’s belief that it is the scar massage that is helping scars heal better, not the ingredients in the Medera. He says you can use any skin moisturizer. I wanted to use Vitamin E. I went online and bought a Natural Vitamin E-Oil. It came yesterday and the other listed ingredients are soybean, corn, wheat germ, sesame, and lemon oils. I wanted just Vitamin E-oil with no other ingredients.

My D said the same thing about Mederma. He also suggested breaking one of Vit E capsules that I already had at home and using the oil on the scar.

Hmmm - I’m healing from a second degree burn (skin is just deep pink now) and asked the pharmacist and he recommended Mederma so I bought a small tube - expensive! There are no scars involved - just trying to get the skin to heal nicely. Last week my dr told me there wouldn’t be a scar but my skin could stay pink for up to 6 months. No matter what product you read about, someone says it’s great and someone says it’s no better than anything else. Hard to know what to do!

I have also heard about breaking open the Vit E capsule. Never done it though.
