Purse perfection

I like the LV satchel bag- the one I think of as the original one. I also like the tubular one.

I’m about 6 pages back, but has anyone mentioned the wealth of bags on etsy?

On the more moderate end, I am a fan of Tignanello bags. To my eye, they look more expensive than they are, and they come in beautiful colors. The leather is soft and buttery. I am hard on bags and wreck the heck out of them. I don’t feel guilty about abusing a Tignanello. Marshalls carries several of them at deep discounts.

I like Furla for nice Italian bags. I used to buy them in Italy before they became popular here.

I am another who just does not “get” the Coach thing.

I picture Louis Vuitton as a small child writing his initials on every surface he could find, his poor parents complaining it wouldn’t be so bad if he would just limit himself to paper but no, he has to write all over their bags, suitcases, even the family Bible …

^^^cute. :)

While I have so many fashionistas in one place, could any of you give me a little advice on what color evening bag I might carry with a gold evening gown? Gold on gold seems so dull and predictable. Also need to decide on shoes. What would be unexpected, but still look good? I’m attending an opening night musical concert/gala.

Here’s the dress:[David Meister Sleeveless V-Neck Gown - Neiman Marcus](http://www.neimanmarcus.com/p/David-Meister-Sleeveless-V-Neck-Gown/prod157580008/?eVar4=You%20May%20Also%20Like%20RR)

^^^How about a deep bronze metallic?

Maybe something like this:[Zac Zac Posen Clutch - Posen | Bloomingdale’s](http://www1.bloomingdales.com/shop/product/zac-zac-posen-clutch-posen?ID=731513&CategoryID=17309#fn%3Dspp%3D49)

Beautiful! Bookmarked it! This would also work with a dressy day dress, not just for evening.

“Me, too. Any bag that needs to be covered in initials or other obvious branding screams tacky to me, regardless of the cost. I even take the hanging tags off of bags. A bag should be admired for it’s styling, quality and good looks, not it’s cost or brand, IMH”

I don’t understand the notion (popular on CC) that “designer” is interpreted as “has visible logos or initials, visible across the room.” What does one thing have to do with the other?

Man, I need an opening night gala to attend. That is a beautiful gown, Moonchild.

Regarding purse size, I read an article today about the NFL’s new policy restricting the size and type of bags that men and women can bring to a game. Purses must be small clutch-type, no larger than the size of a hand. Otherwise, larger bags must be clear plastic.

Check out the hilarious video made by a couple of women who are protesting this decision. :)
[My Purse. My Choice. - YouTube](<a href=“My Purse. My Choice. - YouTube”>My Purse. My Choice. - YouTube)

We were given tickets to the Mon night game this week and I was appalled not to be able to bring a purse! On the other hand, I found I could survive with just a couple of cards, small phone, and tissues for a few hours.

There was a story on the TV news about an older lady parked far away who was ready to abandon her purse, but was given a ride back to her car. Loved the video…

“I picture Louis Vuitton as a small child writing his initials on every surface he could find, his poor parents complaining it wouldn’t be so bad if he would just limit himself to paper but no, he has to write all over their bags, suitcases, even the family Bible …”

I love the Murakami for LV designs - almost bought a small bag from Yoogi’s. The smiling cherry blossoms are so cheerful. :)

I am loving this thread.
First off- Moonchild- great dress!
The majority of the time my first choice bag is a crossbody style. I have found I enjoy having my hands free and it is the most body friendly for my hip issues. I consider myself a mid priced bag shopper. I tend to purchase bags in the $100 to $350 dollar range. If the bag is leather I want it to be real. The must fit in daily bag items. Large wallet, large prescription sunglass case, lip balm and pen.
For everyday my go to purse usually end up being a Fossil bag. I have several that I rotate depending on what I am doing. I recently picked up a lightweight crossbody Fossil that has a web strap that I have used on several trips. It is big enough to fit my wallet, my sunglass case and if I arrange it just so I can get my IPad inside. The bag itself is light enough that even with everything inside it is pretty lightweight.
I just bought but haven’t used yet a black Coach bag from the Nordstrom sale this summer. Not sure of the name but it is crossbody and classic. It is my first Coach purchase in many years. I also like some of the Cole Haan bags.
I have a great Jerome Dreyfus leather bag that is made of great soft leather. The problem with that bag is that it is heavy without anything in it. Also if I don’t latch all the flaps I find that things can fall out if I am not careful.
For travel I use a Longchamp bag. I love my Longchamp but I don’t use it as a daily purse. I have a Baggallini that I like to use when I go sailing. In that instance I don’t carry a wallet.
Looking in my closet- my handbag choices tend to be conservative. The majority are black or tan leather. I love the look of some of the colored bags but can’t bring myself to spend a few hundred dollars on a bag that isn’t brown, black or tan.
I did recently go out of my comfort zone and bought a pinkish metalic Kate Spade wallet.
This is the bag that I would love to buy next.[MARC BY MARC JACOBS ‘Classic Q - Natasha’ Crossbody Flap Bag, Medium | Nordstrom](http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/marc-by-marc-jacobs-classic-q-natasha-crossbody-flap-bag-medium/3122644?cm_cat=datafeed&cm_ite=marc_by_marc_jacobs_‘classic_q_-_natasha’_crossbody_flap_bag,_medium:318396&cm_pla=bags:women:handbag&cm_ven=Google_Product_Ads&mr:referralID=e781ee45-0a7f-11e3-9389-001b2166c62d)

As for not bringing bags into a game–ever see them frisk men for cargo shorts?

Cross-body vs non-cross body… This is why I love Chanel WOC style: it can be worn crossbody, under the arm, like a clutch, etc. No need to buy an evening bag with this one! Here is a link showing some photos of the ways one can wear this bag:

How about laminated 8" x 11" sheets to go in the new transparent game bags? They could read as folows:

To the NFL honchos,

Dude, you thought you weren’t getting enough before…

Hahahahahahaha

Pizzagirl—several of us just prefer designs that do not incorporate excessive branding. That’s all. You can buy a good designer without the branding. My favorite bag is a YSL bag that just came with a leather YSL tag that I removed. It is still a “designer” bag. Why should I carry something with someone else’s initials?

I am currently lusting over this bag

It may not be purse perfection - but I love it.

I only believe in monogamy in a marriage - not in my relationship with my handbag.
