<p>I cannot believe this guy has any credibility. He is a total extremist but it suits the needs of the anti-growth lobby so they have canonized him.</p>
<p>I had been inclined to listen to what this guy had said in the past, but no more. Why pick on oil firm chiefs? How about their customers? Electric companies, your grandparents for using coal, cows(methane producers), MCDonalds, etc.</p>
<p>I’m pretty sure the whole global warming thing has died off, for the most part. Al and his pals couldn’t pull the wool over everyone’s eyes. We didn’t get the end of days weather they were predicting or anything else. Turns out that good old mother earth has climatic cycles that occur. Can you believe that?</p>

<p>My initial point was that you can’t legislate against someone’s opinion. I’ve spent the last couple of days attempting to educate myself better on global warming. There are some very compelling arguments for it. I’ll continue to keep looking and keep an open mind about it.</p>
<p>Died off? I’ve heard debate on “how much warming”, I’ve heard debate on “is it man-made”, I’ve heard debate on “natural occurrance but intensified by mankind”. I’ve not heard any believers say “oops, I guess I was wrong!”.</p>
<p>I never suggested there wasn’t warming. My point is more the fact that I’m not convinced that we have everything to do with it and am curious how much of an impact we really have. It certainly isn’t the sensationalistic media play thing that it has been the last few years. It makes me wonder why we aren’t still getting hammered with it or why, if we are so culpable, it isn’t a bigger issue in the campaign. My guess is the media has jucier things to sell papers now.</p>

<li> From accounts I have read Al Gore did have a lot of sensationalistic items in the movie (and he did try to pass of fictional footage as real).</li>
<li> I recall hearing a couple of years ago that global warming was partly responsible for Katrina and that those kind of storms were to be expected every year. Global warming was going to greatly increase the frequency and magnitude of hurricanes. Happily they were wrong but we haven’t received that weather they predicted.</li>

<p>pmrlcomm, the debate rages on, and there are strong proponents on both sides. Unfortunatley, I’m not too sure the good doctor is taking the right tract to argue his case. Smacks strongly of the idiotic few on the pro-life side of the house that are convinced blowing up an abortion clinic is a good answer. </p>
<p>We all have opinions on certain topics, and unfortunately we all have a tiny majority of nut-cases who share our opinions and display their points in inappropriate ways. I guess they just don’t realize how much it hurts their own case…</p>
