Putting Work-Study in my awards and achievements for scholarship application?

I was awarded work-study for the fall and spring semester for this school year. I work for the residence halls as a front desk attendant.

Would this be okay to put down for my scholarship application? I qualified for the Dean’s List at my old college (it was if a student took at least 12 credit hours and maintained a 3.5 GPA for that semester). I also received a scholarship to this university that covers some of the cost along with a housing grant.

Unless you’re referring to something other than what I have, work-study is a form of financial aid — not an award.

You can mention the job itself (although jobs shouldn’t be listed in an awards section), but you don’t need to specify that it’s a work-study job. If you had work-study and didn’t use it by having a job, there would be nothing to mention.

If there is a work experience section of your resume or the application form it would probably be more appropriate to put a work-study position in that section than in your award section. It is, after all, more of a job that you’re being paid to do, which you obtained as a form of financial aid, than it is something that was awarded to you.
