Qeustions about SAT II MATH Level 1

Here’s the description:
"Mathematics Level 1 is a broad survey test intended for students who have taken three years of college-preparatory mathematics, including two years of algebra and one year of geometry.

Anticipated Skills
You’re not expected to have studied every topic on the test, but you should anticipate the following:

Number and Operations
Algebra and Functions
Geometry and Measurement (plane euclidean, coordinate, three dimensional, and trigonometry)
Data Analysis, Statistics and Probability"

I’m a sophomore. I wil finish algebra 2 this school year. Should I take SAT Math 1 in October? I’m confused because someone says we should take it after precal, which I will take in my Junior year.

Not all colleges accept Math 1. If you feel strong in math, I’d say wait until after precal and take Math 2. The majority of my S’s goal schools don’t accept Math 1 so we didn’t bother with it.

Odd thing, he’s really strong in math (near perfect on PSAT and ACT, always near the top of the class and working 2 years ahead) yet he didn’t do as well on the SAT 2 as he should have (700 was expecting 740+). Ran out of time, he said. And he’s a fast worker. Does seem to be a test that many score well on, don’t know what his problem was!

Umm so in the summer I will use the time to study math to study other subjects.
