QMB 3250 - Bus Stat - Need TI-83?

Does anyone know if you need a scientific calculator like a TI-83 for Business Stat? We’ve looked in the syllabus and it doesn’t say anything about a calculator requirement. Trying to decide if we can sell D’s or if she’ll need it again.

Sorry I don’t know the answer to your question but I was just wondering, where can I find the syllabus for my professors? I’ve looked everywhere…

check the professor’s website. some departments have a list of all available on the front page of their website, but is usually pretty well disguised.

tzais: I took QMB this past Spring and we were allowed to use whatever calculator we wanted. In fact, because of how great a job tutoringzone did for that class (about 70% of the class minimum used TZ for that class), it came down to a lot of ±X/. Nothing ever got more complex than that, if I remember correctly.

Some bad news for you, though.According to everything I’ve heard, the school of business is trying to make the class more difficult. I can’t say I blame them too much because the average grade in the class was a B+ I believe, and those of us that used TZ had little problem with the 3 tests. Out of 30, I missed 2q, 3q, 0q respectively throughout the course. In addition, he’d give us credit for one question as a bonus.

If you have any q’s about the course, just let me know

@gator2010: you won’t be able to check your syllabus until your class is created on e-learning by your professor and your professor uploads the syllabus to it. You’ll prob gain access to your syllabus from a week before school up to the first day of class. You can check out the required books on ISIS

Thank you vincanity1. I’ve tried to log onto e-learning but when I type in my gatorlink and pw it says it doesn’t exist? Is that because the professors didn’t create the class on e-learning yet?

Thanks, Vicanity. I’ll let D know about the calculator and pending change in level of difficulty.

Gator2010, if you go to UF.edu and just do a search in the search box for things like the course number and perhaps the professor’s name and the word syllabus, you may find some. Not always, but sometimes.

The School of Business has a page where it lists most of theirs.
