<p>Can anyone explain to me why the answer isn’t B? I thought you can’t say “and <em>__” then a “or </em>” like “I like cheese, donuts, and pizza or soda”. Isn’t that a grammatical error?</p>

what they did is "I like cheese, donuts and pizza, or soda.
the donuts and pizza are not separated by a comma and therefore serve as one term.</p>
<p>Even if you don’t use a comma, doesn’t the “and” make the “or” cancel out?</p>
<p>no, you are allowed to include the “and” as long as it doesn’t indicate the end of the list (i.e as long as it doesn’t have the comma before it)</p>
<p>I think an important thing you needed to know was that “hooks and eyes” acts as one object.</p>
