QQ (Quick Question)

I know people say that if you can get a 700+ on Baron’s Math IIC you can get and 800 on the real thing…does this hold true for their Spanish prep? I keep getting like 710-20 which would be alright on the real thing, but I definitely want better.

In the end I guess everything above a 700 will look alright for me because I’m not a native speaker by any means.

you mentioned on your penn chance thread that you’re “FLUENT” in spanish…did you mark proficient in spanish on your commonapp? Because if you do, and you crank out anything less than 790, that would raise some eyebrows. Just a thought! I’m in the same boat with german…I contacted vanderbilt and they said it would be weird if i put i was fluent in german and then got less than a 790. does that makes sense?

^ I don’t think that that is completely true. A 790 seems to high.

A girl in my class was born and raised in Mexico and got a 740.

And remember, these are Baron’s tests. They’re notoriously hard, hence the reason I made this thread

But yes, I’m a very proficient Spanish speaker; I’ve studied abroad, studied independently, and my class even opened up a new class at my school for me and four natives. I would not, however, ever claim to know every nit-picky grammar rule. Hell, I wouldn’t even say I know them all in English.

So does anyone know if the Spanish Baron’s tests are equivalent to the difficultly of the Math ones? If not, as Passionfruit so gracefully pointed out, I have some serious problems on my hands.
