So i’ve been looking at colleges and i just want to know if i qualify for them, obviously.
- i have done 3 AP classes. English, US History and Calculus.
- Senior year i will only be taking 1 AP class, all of my other classes are honor classes.
- i have been on a varsity sport all 3 years of high school for Soccer and Lacrosse.
- i have done community service such as; Helping special ed kids, mission trips, and soup kitchens.
- my SAT scores: Reading: 690 Math: 760 Writing: 768; 2218 i estimated my scores by my overall score, i don’t remember the exact score! but overall, i got a 2218!
- my gpa: 3.9
i’m looking at schools like, Upenn, NYU, Stanford, Brown, Princeton, Carnegie Mellon, and University of Alabama.
I want to major in Criminology and Psychology possibly minor in History. what are my chances??

A 768 in writing and a 2218 overall is not a possible score, SAT scores go by increments of 10 points. Are you lying about the whole post, just the SAT score, or did you make a simple mistake?

not lying, a mistake! lol i tried calculating by my overall score @pmoney1

That’s what I figured, sorry if I came off as untrustworthy.

@pmoney1 not problem at all, i tried estimating by my overall score because i didn’t remember my exact scores on each one!

I’d say you have a good shot at most schools listed, though some are automatic reaches for all students. You have a good GPA, and the sports help, but have you joined any clubs? Test scores are good, if you could raise them to 2300’s you chances would increase more greatly.

All Ivies - Reach (They are for everyone)
NYU (As long as not Stern or Tisch) - High Match
CMU - High Match/Low Reach
U of A - Safety

me helping special ed kids was a club called Best Buddies, as well as the soup kitchens and mission trips they were all invalid in clubs! so overall 3 clubs. and what do you mean by not stern for NYU? @pmoney1 also, what about Stanford?

If you are applying to Stern or Tisch (sub schools in NYU) your chances of being accepted are greatly diminished (due to high competition for a limited amount of spots). Stanford - Reach. You are competitive for all schools that you are applying to, but remember that many competitive applicants are denied from highly competitive schools every year.

@pmoney1 thank you!
