<p>I read that if I qualify for the federal pell grant, that I may also be eligible for the SMART grant. However, my school doesn’t list my major (Medical/Clinical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology) as a qualifying major. Technically it is a major that involves both life sciences and technology, and it qualifies at most other universities (code is 51.1005). Do you think it would be possible to petition my eligibility through the university, or is the university-specific list determined by the government?</p>
