Qualitative Sectors of Banking and Potential Business Schools

Hello everyone,
I have a few questions regarding Business School applications and jobs pertaining to banking.

Firstly, I should mention that I am a History major at the University of Waterloo in Canada and will be graduating soon with a GPA of around 3.1 (rounded up). In terms of work experience, so far I have done significant volunteering work as well as a 14 week summer position in a large Canadian private equity firm.
As I will be looking for employment soon I wanted to know what I should be looking at in order to set myself up for a good chance at being admitted to a top MBA.
Are there any qualitative/research positions available at banks that would allow for steady progression in 3-4 years? Although I have knowledge of quant theories and practices, I would prefer something that requires interpersonal skills and excellent verbal/written communication ability.
Secondly, assuming that I find a position in which I can display my talents and progress successfully which business schools would one recommend that have an emphasis on case study/qualitative analysis? I know HBS conducts its program like that but it would be a stretch to even get an interview there. I was thinking along the lines of Cornell Johnson or Michigan Ross maybe even UT Austin McCombs?
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Maybe someone has any websites they could direct me to where I can find info on this?
