Hey guys,I’m a high school graduate,and i am a singer as well (I’ve recorded songs in 6 languages).
Talking about my GPA,its good(3.80),.Furthermore i’ve written pretty good essays too(that’s what my guidance counselor told me)…
Similarly i’m planning to give my SAT in December and my ECA’S are pretty good too.
So what are my chances to get accepted in the following colleges:
Please friends do kindly share your thoughts and views…!
1.Stanford university
2.University of penn.
3.MIT
4.Boston university
5.Newyork university
6.Drexel university

Still. 2100 with a 3.8 GPA from a FOREIGN applicant is way way way WAY too low. Consider the types of individuals you’re going to be put up against. Most foreign applicants have very high test scores and higher grades than you do. Unless you are a URM within the US, a 2100 isn’t good enough to consider applying. Imagine what that means for you - an overrepresented ethnicity who’s also applying out of the nation.

You need more detail… What ECAs do you have? Leadership? What did you do…? Any hooks…? And we can’t say anything without your SAT/ACT. Unless you get a 2200+, I’d rule out 1-3.

Edit your post or reply with more detail and you can get legitimate responses.

Really hard to say with the info you’ve given. It wouldn’t be impossible to get into Stanford without a 2200+ (MIT and UPenn maybe a little less so), but you’d still have to be for sure over 2050+ and have a solid amount of ECs and evidence of hard work to compensate, which isn’t something I see with the given info. Also if you haven’t taken the SATs yet, you haven’t taken the SAT II’s yet, which will seriously make it difficult to get into those upper tier schools.

If you’re applying for voice, then NYU and other universities with solid art departments will be much more willing to look over lackluster qualities if you have a baller resume and audition, the same is true for some Ivies.

Drexel would be pretty solid match, hence @achilles’ pretty funny joke haha.

@Ganondorf901,
I’ve done lots of social works …Furthermore ,I am a good player of basketball(Won many national titles too),soccer.I’ve also won many dance and singing competition.and I’ve got some of the participation letter from NASA too.!!
In my experience,I’ve seen my senior(high school) who have got 2060 in SAT & still got accepted from 6 major universities(Harvard,Stanford,U. of Penn,MIT,Cornell and UCLA) with full scholarships.
So what do you think was his triumph card in the application process??

^It’s impossible to say, as we don’t know his stats/ECs/essays/personal situation, etc. You’ve presented your stats, and people have responded as to what they think your chances will be.

If you were a domestic student, I’d say your chances with a 3.8 GPA and a 2000 or so SAT for Stanford/MIT/UPenn (absent other significant factors) would not be great. If international students need even better stats, then I’d say your chances are /really/ not great.

However, other things in your application might compensate for lower SAT/GPA.

EDIT: Didn’t you say in another post that you got a 1500 on the SAT? How are you expecting to raise your score from a 1500 to a 2000+ so quickly?

@whartondreamer
I am strongly interested in engineering ,Well that’s my field.
& I’m applying for scholarships(80% above) ,so i don’t think these colleges provide good scholarships.!! :(

Oh indeed. The first 3 are public schools so you’d have a difficult time obtaining financial aid. The difficult thing for international applicants is that you either have to be very very qualified for top tier colleges (which you frankly academically are not) or you have to be able to pay full ticket price (which I presume you are unable to do). So you’re put in a big predicament in terms of your choices for colleges.

I’d still say look into Purdue and Georgia Tech (I have friends that received full scholarships from both schools and they have fantastic engineering programs). Consider looking into CMU as well. I’d say Drexel, Boston U, and NYU can stay as well.
